Overview
SD Night organised by the School of Design of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, PolyU Design Celebrates Community and Industry Partners aims to feature the work-integrated education projects and the Open-Inno Challenge administrated by SD+ which is the a knowledge transfer unit under the PolyU’s SD responsible for industry collaborations.
SD+ is the first time to organise the Open-Inno Challenge (“OIC”) which is an open innovation contest with a view to arousing people to envision preferred societal changes and improving people’s lives and well-being. SD+’s first collaborator is Alipay Design. The OIC called for collecting observations, stories and creative ideas related to everyday challenges of “exchanging resources or transacting with others” by end August 2021. Eight outstanding designers are selected as the awardees of the OIC x Alipay 2021 Appreciation Award.
The Event also marks the initiation of Designing Central which is project funded by CreateSmart Initiative.
